A Favorite Autumn Recipe: Fall Apple Salad

As the weather starts to cool off subtly here in the Midwest, I’m reminded of all my favorite fall recipes and I start checking out the farmers’ stands for great fall fruits and vegetables. Lately, I’ve been seeing amazing tart apples. This weekend, I picked up a bag and made my favorite Fall Apple Salad.

For those of you who love a good, tart apple, the recipe is below. I recommend serving it on deep brown or orange place settings to complete the “fall” effect.

* 8 tart green apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into bite-size pieces
* 1/2 cup dried cranberries
* 1/2 cup toasted, slivered almonds
* 1/2 cup dried cherry pieces
* 16 oz. vanilla yogurt

What do you do after that? Very simple - just stir it all together in a bowl until it’s all evenly covered. There’s no need to wait, but you can refrigerate it if you like it to be extra cold.
